2016-2017 Seed Exchange Catalog
Click here to peruse the 2016-2017 Seed Exchange Catalog. Orders closed January 27, 2017.
Orders will be filled in February on a first received basis with requests from donors and volunteers honored first.
The Seed Exchange is a HPS/MAG member benefit. To learn more about the Exchange, read A Seed of an Idea and How it Grew from a past HPS Newsletter. Also visit the Avant Gardens Blog, GardenForeplay, for a 2014 posting titled Collecting Seed for Seed Exchanges.
Seed Propagation and Seed Cleaning Workshops
This year the Hardy Plant Society offered three exciting workshops - two on seed propagation and one on seed cleaning. Admission is free for anyone who becomes a member of HPS/MAG at the class.
Seed Exchange Workshops
Join us for cleaning and packaging workshops at the Henry Foundation for Botanical Research, 801 Stony Lane in Gladwyne, PA, held from 10:00am to 2:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays starting January 31, and continuing into February. To schedule your workshop, please contact our friendly volunteer coordinator, Polly Garnett, at email@example.com or 610-695-9135.
In addition to learning at least one new thing about seeds and propagation, you can renew old friendships, hear the latest news, describe the progress in your own garden, and review the great gardens that you had the opportunity to visit in the past year. Bring a lunch for yourself and maybe a snack to share. Coffee, tea and water are provided.
HPS/MAG Seed Exchange Snow Cancellation Notification
Since the Seed Exchange workshops typically coincide with some of the worst winter weather of the year, we will notify volunteers of the day's plans with an announcement on the home page of the HPS/MAG web site, www.hardyplant.org, available by 8:00am each workshop day on which weather is a factor. For those without access to a computer, call Sandy Vernick at 610-688-1086 for up-to-date information.
